Just as ride leaders have a responsibility for the rides and riders they lead, riders have a responsibility to both the ride leader and the cycling community at large to ride in a responsible manner. This includes: -Read the ride description and be familiar with the basics of the route -Be able to ride at the posted average pace -Communicate any issues you may have in regards to the route, or needing to cut off early, etc. prior to the ride -Bring proper tools to take care of common on the ride issues (pump, spare tube, tire levers, etc) -Point out road hazards to your fellow riders whether through hand signals or voice communication -Follow traffic laws in a safe manner: —Ride no more than double file and move into single file when there’s traffic behind —Yield to traffic behind —Don't run stoplights and stop signs —Don't ride the wrong way down one way streets “RIDE VEHICULARLY”
